Brainstorming

As a team, we decided we wanted a thoughtful, unique and interactive experience as a gift to our clients. Not only did we want to show appreciation, we also wanted to show our abilities and showcase our design and development skills wrapped nicely in a clever package.

Historically, clients have been very receptive to holiday gifts involving charity donations. Common holiday gifts (i.e. chocolates, mugs, blankets, etc.) are always nice, but they aren’t very memorable. Once we decided on focusing around charities, we thought it would be fun for each employee to choose a charity and personally represent it in some way. In turn, it was decided that a good cause could also be combined with a creative way for clients to get the chance to know the team.

Inspiration

Once we decided on the basis of our vision, we had a lot of room to explore on how to showcase it. After a couple sessions, we narrowed down our best ideas. One suggestion was to do a mock Google Meet or Zoom style meeting with the team using recorded videos of each team member. We fleshed out the idea and decided collectively we were going to move forward.

Using the classic grid style as you would see on Zoom as a homepage, we then decided to branch out and add separate pages to essentially design and build a mini site. We added the ability to click on each person to view their “bio” including a video telling why they had chosen that charity.

Direction

After landing on this direction, we realized the resemblance it would have to “The Brady Bunch”. This association inspired the idea to create a retro, groovy holiday theme.
